data/One of the country’s best wine shops is the first – and last – stop on the route up the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, giving wine lovers a one-stop indulgence in wine browsing and tasting in an atmosphere of serene bliss. The largest collection of South African wines under one roof is elegantly displayed in neat, inviting rows, grouped according to cultivars, styles, innovations and bargains – a wine library ready to be lovingly browsed and selected. Enthusiastic owners Paul and Cathy du Toit and their staff take great pleasure in helping customers discover and taste new wines and find the perfect match for any meal or occasion.
During the Vino-Phenomenal A-Fair (December and January) 60 premium wines from 12 different producers are available for tasting daily, while for the rest of the year eight to 10 selected wines are offered daily.
The wines of the Overberg are showcased at The Hermanus Wine and Food Fair annually in August with tastings from the region throughout the year. Olive oil tastings are an innovation. Open seven days a week, it is a place to linger and savour, find gifts and pick up the latest in wine news, books and magazines. A fine wine destination that also ships wines worldwide.
