STRANDVELD WINES
Strandveld Wines is the southern-most cellar on the African continent.Braving constant winds off the Atlantic, we craft two award-winning ranges of wine: First Sighting and Strandveld.
First Sighting wines express the terroir of the Elim ward, where varying soil types and relentless winds off the Atlantic ensure slow ripening, modest yields and intense flavours. The Strandveld Vineyards range is crafted from grapes grown in specific soils – yellow ferricrete for the Sauvignon Blanc and white quartzite for the Syrah.
These wines are the ultimate expression of the place and time of their creation. Strandveld is a foundermember of the Nuwejaars River Special Management Area Initiative, which has re-introduced buffalo and hippo to the Agulhas plains.
