With the new cellar now operational things are beginning to look very businesslike at Barton. Part of the farm is a nature reserve and the rest is planted to vines with the end result being a delightful place to visit.
The tasting room offers a view into the cellar where Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and a Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon blend are nurtured. Reinhard Odendaal is the general manager and makes the wine. The scent of lavender drifting through the air, rows of olive trees and a nursery specializing in large trees all add to the atmosphere of a busy farm.
The property is ideal for walking and picnics and five luxury self-catering villas offer the option of a luxurious stay over.
