Elgin’s acclaimed Arumdale (proprietor Mark Simpson) produces special occasion wines which have graced many a fine table. All are noteworthy: the flagship St Andrew (noble red blend), the rich Cabernet and Shiraz, the off-dry, soft pink Shiraz and the long lees contact Sauvignon Blanc.
Arumdale now presents alongside the above, a beginning-to-end-of-meal set of wines for everyday meal accompaniment. Really fairly priced and adventurous they are: the Robin Hood (red, courageous and lusty), the Maid Marian (off-dry plush rose), the Little John (crisp and defined Sauvignon Blanc), and the Friar Tuck (honeyed red, suited to spicy food and dessert)..
