Visitors to Greyton may think they have stumbled upon Brigadoon, a place that is idyllic, unaffected by time, remote from reality. Expect thatched cottages, pretty gardens, oak-lined streets and donkey carts. It is a popular weekend destination for trendy Capetonians who sample their way through the feastladen tables at the Saturday morning market, and enjoy a glass or two under a shady tree, savouring the simple pleasures in life. The hills and valleys around Villiersdorp, in the Theewaterskloof Valley, are fertile and home to at least 40 grape producers who deliver to the Villiersdorp co-op. The excellent and varied wines are bottled under the Since 1922 as well as the Villiersdorp Cellar Range.
